My mom has DSL with her phone line. Have you checked into that? There's a splitter so you can still use your phone.

A lot of the bitching and moaning about MSM is what I call "injustice collecting." Not that I invented the nomenclature for the phenomenon. My husband has bitched and moaned about MSM media bias since I met him in 1979, so I have learned to tune it out. I used to point out that you won't get liberal news stories in the Washington Times nor liberals calling into Rush Limbaugh but finally just gave it up. To me it's no more bothersome than the fact that when I wear sunglasses everything has a different color than when I don't, so I have to make mental adjustments. Doesn't phase me, I don't even think about it. Two things are irksome -- there are more liberals in media, and liberals don't notice it. But liberals tend to be non-observant people anyway. If they didn't have blinders on, they could not be liberals! ;^) But, as a libertarian, conservatives bug me, too. As well as "big L" Libertarians!
