Federated Department Stores bought the May Company, owner of Foley's, Lord and Taylor, Marshall Field, and a host of other stores(Robinsons-May, Famous Barr, Jones, Hecht, etc.) The deal won't finalize until later this year. Lord and Taylor will remain, and most of the others will turn into Macy's. Bloomingdale's, also owned by Federated, may be a few. No decision yet has been made on Marshall Field's.

One of my best friend's husband is an executive with May, and I get the information from her.

Because the May stores have inventory, it will be awhile for all the changes to take place.
