One could say that. But he was more than that. His book is worth reading, quíte funny actually. Did you know he was from Australia?
Of course you have seen Captain Blood, right? Haven't we all years ago. Which takes me to another subject, the music for that movies. It was written by Korngold, a jewish composer from Austria, who escaped from the Nazis and made it big in Hollywood.
He wrote great music to many movies, most of which is now available compiled on CDs.
In his previous life he was (and remains so!) an accomplished composer of classic music with chamber music and several operas left behind. His opera "Die tote Stadt" is still frequently performed on the leading opera stages of the world.
Amazing right?
Composed operas and then the music to several Errol Flynn and other Hollywood movies!
