The Powerline quote was from July 10, I think, so you've got the wrong day. Remember Andrea Mitchell comments on Hardball all the time. Of course she would emphasize the CIA's having Plame as still officially covert, though it's clear she stopped being a NOC (which is what the statute covers) in 1997. But it's an important point, what does it mean to be "covert" when literally hundreds if not thousands of people know you are CIA? When you're married to a diplomat and in Who's Who? At this degree of openness, lots of people will mention you are CIA who have no clue it's supposed to be a secret. Isn't this just the CIA trying to pass the blame to cover themselves for their own bad judgement and sloppiness?
