I recently posted this on Ragingbull. It is a challenge to place Israel in the proper perspective today.

*******************

I do believe that God made promises and a covenant with the nation of Israel and Israel still has those promises. The main promise now being that Jesus will save a remnant of Israel as a sign of mercy because Israel has born the brunt of suffering for the job of bringing Jesus to the world. But that does not mean they are still God's chosen or holy people. It's obvious that the second covenant is through Jesus and is for all people. And that it is a spiritual born again membership, not a membership based on a single nation or race.

Israel has a anti-christ spirit now and the Jews are hostile to Jesus. The Talmud which was written by Jews who stayed in Babylon after the captivity was over and developed this new theology for the Jews is now accepted by the Jews. But the Talmud does not even follow the law of moses and is extremely hostile to Jesus. The Torah pointed the way to Jesus. The newer Talmud written later is very hostile to Jesus and is inspired by man and written by the Jewish scribes living in Babylon about 5 centuries after Jesus. It is a violently hostile document towards Jesus but the Jews today accept it as holy writings. So the Jews today have accepted a huge false doctrine also, based on their rejection of Jesus.

Obviously Israel plays a major role in the Last Days and Jesus is supposed to touch down there when He returns. But Israel will still suffer greatly again for their rejection of Jesus. Even to the point that they accept the anti-christ in the place of Jesus until they realize their mistake, too late. They might not realize the mistake until Jesus appears. The spirit of anti-christ that is represented by the false writings in the Talmud is what they follow now so it makes sense that they would accept the anti-christ himself as Jesus because they are so blinded. Right now anti-christ is the spirit they follow. I am still waiting to see how it all plays out. In the end it is the remnant that is saved as God promised.

Jeremiah 51 talks about God's judgment of "babylon" for it's betrayals of Israel. Some believe this is about ancient babylon but the prophecies are not fulfilled against ancient babylon as outlined in 51.

29 "To make the land of babylon a desolation without inhabitants" . And read 51:24-26.

This has not happened to ancient babylon as described by Jeremiah. I think God is talking about "mystery babylon" of Revelation and the last days.

24 "Behold I am against you O destroying mountain who destroys the whole earth, says the Lord". 25 ..... "and I will make you a burnt out mountain" 26 "and they will not take from you even a stone for a corner Nor a stone fore foundations, but you will be desolate forever, declares the Lord.

It is God's judgment on mystery babylon who has apparently betrayed Israel. 24 "But I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea for all their evil that they have done in Zion before your eyes" declares the Lord.

God's judgment on mystery babylon is because of their betrayals of Israel. And I believe mystery babylon is the US, so it makes sense.

Jer 51:5 For neither Israel or Judah has been forsaken By his God the Lord of Hosts, Although their land is full of guilt Before the Holy One of Israel.

Even though Israel and Judah are completely guilty before the Lord He, (Jesus), has not forsaken them.
