Agreed. This mania will destroy the Florida real economy for a very long time but so few here seem to get it yet. Now one of the real estate pimp radio shows was voicing complaints about the lack of vision by the county commissioners on the dire situation of affordable housing in Palm Beach County and how professionals like nurses and teachers will not be able to live there. These are the same people who for the last year have been pumping homeowners to cash out and purchase investment properties via the 1% option ARM and IO loans to capitalize on 20 or 30% a year appreciation. Somehow I doubt Scripps will be the factor everyone thinks. The way things are going most of the real corporate growth and expansion the next cycle will go to places like Raleigh, Atlanta, Dallas and Austin. The things we still have going for us are beaches, winter weather and deep pocketed angel investors for venture capital funding. Even there we are only number 20 in venture capital funding behind even Rhode Island.
