Alighieri, re:I heard the defense by the shooters on the segment. Problem is that they don't even begin to put a dent in the population of the doggies. There are thousands for everyone they shoot. It's just a mean spirited thing, brings out one of the less attractive of human attributes. The defense is a bit feeble - but the issue is real. You are correct the method is rather course and the ranchers don't exactly have all day to sit around shooting dogs. So a few decided to charge people (with more money than brains) to shoot the dogs for them and make a dollar at the same time. It's not exactly the brush most hunters want to be painted with.
