Kerry was merely passing on his fellow vets true stories which asked him, even begged him, to make public, because they didn't want those kind of atrocities repeated. Understand, if you spoke out against atrocities in the field, you were risking your life. You could get fragged. It happened in PLATOON. Again, PLATOON and APOCALYPSE NOW were now make believe. PLATOON especially was very realistic. When I talkied to Kerry about Nam he told me his experience was very much like APOCALYPSE NOW without the crazy ending and Marlon Brando. He often ferried SpecOps behind enemy lines for classified missions, deadly missions. He said they even water-skied behind their boat like in AN.
