This constant overreaction of police departments is especially noticeable among the medium and small size ones. They have time on their hands, and love to bust teenagers. It is out of hand, IMO

I saw this in my home town, which is a small college town. The college drinking crowd drove the downtown economy. The cops and the new university President, who has dreams of turning the town into a rustic little quaint retirement home for university faculty and staff, shut down the house parties.

Last two times I was back there, the place was a ghost town. Most of main street was boarded up.

The cops must be besides themselves with boredom - no doors to kick down to arrest drinking-age kids under the "speakeasy" laws.
