The only place that is going on now is Japan, where the ethic of saving is very strong.

I learn more from this thread than anywhere else on SI. The data, ideas and exchange of views -- and the manner in which people express them are all excellent in my view. I want to avoid being drawn into anything that is not in that spirit.
