The problem with the market is that the ILECs (the Bells) now have no internal-market competitors.

It seems to me like their wireline faces substantial contribution from wireless and their dsl faces substantial competition from cable. What part has no internal-market competitors?

And it's been the CLECs that have driven down prices and spurred DSL growth.

I think wireless will help. Did you read this article on wireless in Oregon? I know what we both think of Government running things, but allowing consumers to piggyback on the Government net sounds great. The coverage is what gets me.
