I've had an old analog 10' C-band dish at a couple places I lived in the past. You're right, those suckers swayed in the breeze (even the mesh ones). They didn't scramble their signals much, 20 odd years ago. It was fun watching the live network feeds which stayed on during commercials. Observing the talking heads incessantly combing their hair and checking their makeup was amusing. I'll never forget seeing Lou Dobbs chain smoking like a stove during breaks and then stubbing them out right before going back "on air"...
