Yes, I take advantage of that, too. It's the cable series that sometimes offer that option. Network programs don't, unfortunately, so, rather than choose, I record the conflicts on a VCR. I can almost always get everything.

My Panasonic does everything a TiVo does, although the interface is not as robust. Still, I have several hundred hours of disk storage and I don't have to pay a monthly fee to TiVo or hook up a phone line plus I can play or copy CDs and DVDs. Works for me. It's only fault is that it doesn't have six tuners. <g>

Do you rely on The Daily Show for your cable news?

The reason I ask is that a good friend and her husband prefer it for their news.
