I know some Canadians. Because they might like to split off from Canada is no reason to assume they'd like to join the US! I think that idea would get a good laugh, especially in BC.

In the survey, 35.6 per cent of respondents from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia agreed with the statement: Western Canadians should begin to explore the idea of forming their own country

It would be more useful to consider ways of encouraging Quebec separation from Canada.

Most Western canadian discontent comes from the results of Canadian government constantly being run by Quebeckers and thus, not surprisingly, long term, policies rebound to the disadvantage of Western Canadian aspirations and interests.
