because it was apparent there wasn't going to be a response from them.

It seems like you are implying that because the Japanese soldiers committed so many atrocities, their civilians deserved to die in a nuclear holocaust

Once again...i have not implied that.

It is surprising that our leaders never thought of that.

Do you think the 200,000 POWS held captive in Japan, many on the verge of death by starvation, would of thought it a good idea? How about their families back in the USA?

I'm sorry to jump in here with sarcasm, Grainne, but you have to admit you certainly asked for it.
