i find a lot of shy, lack of self , and yes, trouble kids do get into trouble with alcohol and drugs once away to college.

amazing how many times you hear about someone even in their late 50's reliving the isolation of when as a child even in large or small families. It seemed to carry them through life until the first drink or smoke of freedom. nothing to do with family upbringing but something internal. It also appears that by sharing their feelings with others who have had the same experiences through their lives some understanding comes together and they over come these fears.

Then there are some of us who just drank too dam much. g
