According to the article you posted before this one, CooWebSearch is not the main problem:

This keylogger is not CoolWebSearch. It was discovered during a CoolWebSearch (CWS) infestation, but it actually is its own sophisticated criminal little trojan that’s independent of CWS.

That article also stated:

An antispyware or antivirus program will likely not catch it—and to our knowledge, there are none out there that can detect this thing through a scan of the system.

Therefore, I am assuming that CWShredder also can not detect and remove it at this time. I would assume one would only have a clue to this problem when your firewall starts asking for permission to let your computer call home.

If trojans and viruses are allowed to evolve to this level, It may force those of us who use are using computers as a financial and trading tool to consider going back to a routine reformat and clean install. Wouldn't that be a bummer!

Food for thought:

Should CPA's, Lawyers, and the like surf the web with the same computer they have their client information on? If they do, I believe they would be well advise to have both a physical and software firewall.
