re: Ty Willingham....

Mannie...

He's a good man...if your hands are tied by Academic restrictions to recruiting - it's hard to deliver on the very high expectations.

Hopefully Charlie Weiss with a handfull of Super Bowl Rings is going to be able to recruit some of that top tier talent that has escaped ND over the last few years.

We need some of those 4.2 streakers at WR that keep ending up at Fla St. or Michigan (vbg).

Brady Quinn should make it exciting this year...

9 wins and a Major Bowl is my goal.

3 Weiss Recruiting Classes and hopefully the program will be back in the hunt for the National Title.

In my opinion, they've just been 2, or 3 key position players away the last few years... mainly NFL type athleticism & speed at DB & WR.

There's going to be a lot of excitement back this year.

Willingham is a class act - he was very well liked here, but imho - the program went backwards after his first year...the integration of his "system" didn't appear to make much progress and there were a few games where HE lost the game and was clearly out coached...THAT is what earned him an early exit prior to his contract expiration.

- it's a tough 'gig...but, these guys aren't making $75 K a year any more either.

It isn't about producing Eagle Scouts - it's about being in the "hunt" and in the Major Bowls 4 out of 5 years. The High Level Administration didn't help the situation either...change can only be good imo.

Good Luck to UW.
