They spend a lot of time trying to cover this up with sweet names like "Clear Skies Initiaive" and "Healthy forests" and "No CHild Left Behind". Real Madison Avenue BS. They even secretly pay journalists to pimp for their unpopular failed dishonest policies, but these people are definitely extremists, especially when it comes to serving their masters in Big Oil, and their lackeys on the religious right.
