Right-o. The $50 billion we spend on 'intelligence' can protect us but only if those engaged in 'intelligence' have an ounce of common sense. There's ample evidence of missed opportunity after missed opportunity to prevent 911 in part or in its entirety.

It's hard for Americans to imagine but those people who look good in suits are sometimes stupendously incompetent. While all this stuff was going on, Bush the stupendously incompetent was doing nothing. That's pretty much what he's up to now.

Chertoff didn't even bother to go or send a representative to the BRAC (base realignment and closure comm) to talk about security. It's a wonder the US of A doesn't implode from incompetence.
