The initial version of the latest Windows security update was buggy and retracted. Current patch downloads are supposed to be ok.

Thanks, Jochen. That points to a genuine problem. If they are going to download into computers, which is present arrangement, they need to be much more certain about the absence of bugs than this indicates.
