If I were going again, I am, but not till I pay for the new roof, my biggest must would be a laptop, a good digital camera with lots of pixels and lots of memory for the camera...... I wouldn't be concerned with the trains, the bombs were in the subway remember, and the train system in the UK makes Canada look like the third rate power it really is.... Trains are fast convenient, and they go everywhere.... Good comfortable and broken in shoes and lots of socks, I buy mine a dozen pairs at a time and they are all the same so I don't have to sort them..... One nice set of clothes in case you want to go out, and then just what you would take to New York..... A small backpack would be good and a money belt, although your cash card will work just fine almost everyplace....

You've got to go to the British Museum. I could have spent a week there, maybe more. It was such an amazing place! Also, you might want to try some of the great restaurants. Gordon Ramsey's restaurant (Hell's Kitchen) is in London, as are a number of other fantastic top places. And do a high tea at one of the best places. It's super expensive, but worth it :-) And make sure you have really good rain gear. We didn't go anywhere without our rain capes. Get a really good one, because if you want to be outside, you'll be using it a lot- or at least we did.
