Yeah, that was my pet peeve. My son graduated at the top of his class. Honors student and all. Member of the National Honor Society, had finished his first year of college while still in HS by attending local college (FAU) etc etc. Of course he got full academic scholarship which pays for tuition but not board. At graduation each student who got scholarships announces the value as he picks up his diploma. Since my son was going to go to U OF F the value of his scholarship was something like 3,500 year or so. Meanwhile these big football players lumber up to the podium and announce scholarships worth in the 10's of 1,000's of $$. They could hardly communicate. It was in a way discouraging, though I am a football fan, I think this country needs to put more value on Scholarship then Athletics at Universities, but we all know they dont. jdn
