Jersey is so left that it would take a major, major scandal to overcome the mindset. If what you mean by that is that the furthrest right the electorate is willing to go, at least at a state level, is Christie Whitman and Tom Kean, then I agree. Forrestor is trying to do the waddle--be centrist enough to get the Whitman/Kean vote and pick up enough of the right wing Schundler vote to carry it. But, at least for the moment, he doesn't appear to have the charm to do it and Corzine has yet to be tagged with any serious mistake. The mortgage issue won't be one.
