I said absolutely nothing about "individualism."

Further, I see no evidence that "individualism" makes people more mobile than otherwise. Many immigrants to the US come from backgrounds that are not individualistic. (As do tourists and business travellers.)

Further, your own argument undercuts itself. If getting on an airplane is evidence of individualism, then the people who do get on airplanes must somehow transcend whatever cultural trait you are arguing prevents mobility.

Perhaps you mean nothing more complicated than the fact that people with money have more choices.
