What a batch of memories. Jack Pardee married a girl from the class just ahead of me in high school. I think they are still married. The Chicken Ranch was well known and my youngest brother has much to say about it. Had a high school classmate who entered A&M in 53 in Bear Bryant's first year there. My classmate went on a football scholarship. Realized he was not going to be happy there. Bryant was not his idea of a football coach, or, for that matter, a decent human being. So he transferred, I think by the end of the semester, to Baylor, and then on to Texas Tech.
