The ink is where they get you! I am sold on HP Laserjets. I have two Laserjet 4000s that print 17 ppm, bought one in 1996 and one in 1997, and neither have needed any service yet. The moveable bits and drums that break on other printers are incorporated into the cartridge, so you throw them away. Excellent technology. Actually, they sell them in a box with a label so you can ship the used cartridge back free via UPS or Fedex. I buy the extra yield cartridges that last for 10,000 copies.
