Congress over the past few months has all-too-willingly approved corporate-friendly – and often corporate-written – transportation and energy bills, as well as so-called bankruptcy reform that further rent the middle class' social safety net. And not surprisingly, there's a serious correlation between the dramatic increase in money spent by special interest groups on lobbying and corporate America's taking over the deed to Capitol Hill.

What I don't understand is why anyone is surprised. Traditionally, the MO of the GOP is to benefit corporations as much as possible. The only reason its different now is because the GOP has more power than it has ever had in its history so its pushed its agenda to the max.

That's why we getting the kind of energy bill that we have gotten; why other significant bills favoring corporations have passed; why the GOP does little about illegal immigration [corporations like illegals]. Tom Delay's new best friend, corporate lobbyist Abramoff, has been indicted. Those are the kind of playmates of the current GOP.
