This is like saying my golf score would have been much better if there was no wind and no water and sand traps. Sorry, that is all foreseeable part and parcel of the game.

There is absolutely nothing in Iraq today that was not foreseen by professionals and laymen. Given the seemingly lack of preparations for war by Saddam, some even speculated that Iraqis may be planning a hidden guerilla warfare for post invasion. In hind sight, Saddam could have done a much better job in ruining the day than he did.

The problem was (and still is) that this administration is so full of itself that it did not and does not listen to contrary voices...So how can you trust them to fix this?
