Seems to me the issue is searchability. Wouldn't better search mechanisms solve the basic issue. After all SI solves the two basic problem of (1)storage and (2) continuous updating the massive collecting of posts. So who cares who holds the data. SI does this well enough for now.

If you had a set of posts that was burned to a set of CD on such and such a date. Then all post after that day would be missing. A series of continuously provided CD would be needed as well to keep current. Then you end up with a massively unmanagable storage issue

Laz, LOL!! Perhaps SI could be persuaded to use rewritable CDs and you could overwrite the offending posts with something of your own choosing. Better yet, maybe the programmers could implement a <skip> function to mimic the current <ignore> function, replete with a self-defined <bozo list> to <skip> or <ignore>.
