Ken

I have an HP 1210 all-in-one which I believe has now been outmoded several times by newer lines. Paid under $100 for it at Costco.

I have been refilling both my BW and Color cartridges with their refill kit which costs ~$16 IIRC and will do many many refills (frankly I have lost count). I am on my second refill kit due to need for black refills which is higher usage for most (the kit does have 3 bottles of black vs 1 for each of the colors ... even has 1 of each color for photographic ink refills)

Takes a few times to get the knack of it and if you are not careful it can be messy. Biggest trick is to not let the cartridge run dry. The cartridges can be refilled 8-12 times before its time to start the cycle over with a new HP cartridge.

If you are like me, I usually forget to refill in time along the way and that ends up being the reason requiring a new cartridge ... so the limits of refillability could be more than 12.

As to using this same model for 8x10 etc, although I am no photographer, both wife and I are very happy with print quality and frequently even print on just regular paper for giveaways to our grown children.

Luck
