That's cool. I believe a system like that is in beta testing out east.

I use powerline on my home lan to get access out to my office. Wireless wasn't cutting it and it would have been a pain to bury cable. I was a little sceptical of the powerline technology, but it was quick to install and throughput has been consistent even when I'm running power tools on the same outlet as the router. I can plug in a box in any outlet this side of the meter but it is secured from access outside the meter. I added a WAP to the remote router so I can get wireless access out by the pond. Sounds like MOT is doing the same thing on the other side of the meter.
