It's become the "in" thing for the mainland crowd to go to the outer islands now. Less hustle and bustle, and fewer Japanese tourists.

que, I liked Maui better, with the big island coming in second. If one wants to take a helicopter ride into the canyons on Kauai, it is really impressive.
