you'd have a point.

The point is the ability to stifle a POV with a charge. It works in both cases.

Oh? I can't attack illegal immigration because the majority of illegals are of Hispanic origin?

Is that it?

Following that line of reasoning, I can't attack any illegal immigration at all -- unless maybe it's white and northern European.

So why even bother to have borders or the concept of citizenship?

Why bother to have a country for that matter?

It's absurd, but as long as nationalism, patriotism, love of country, respect for the flag, and other such civic virtues are in disrepute we can't regulate illegal immigration into this country.

That's why the moral argument has to framed in a new way.
