I get the feeling the chimpistration wants to keep the SPR full in case they accidentally start WW III. It's for the planes and tanks in their mind.

Interesting idea but Bush has no incentive whatsoever to lower gas prices. This is what comes of having oily men and women (Chevron named an oil tanker for Condie for goodness sakes) in the administration and oily lobbyists everywhere else.

If Exxon can get the US government to LIE about global warming, what would it take for them to get $3 or $4 gallon gas? Nothing more than wishing for it.

IMO as long as there is very little price elasticity for oil, Bush has zero incentive to lower prices. It's nothing more than a backdoor TAX INCREASE with the TAXES going directly into the pockets of BigOil.

After all, why putz around with unpopular tax cuts for the ultrawealthy when there's a direct siphon from the average bank account into that of BigOil?
