In Germany, where you seem to have most of your friends, most people marry, kids or not.
Again, government policy and in particular tax breaks for married couples vs unmarried - the opposite of Scandinavia - plays a major role.
In Germany people marry to kids and tax breaks.
Sometimes they marry to have a dog - and tax breaks.
Having kids is out of fashion.
