Who cares?
Holy cares, that's who!

I've been saying "Who cares?" to her for months to no avail. Having a Y chromosome clearly causes brain damage, so my opinion is worth nothing.

I mean, really, why would anyone want to pay for 2 or 300 gigs of posts saying "Did not!," "Did, too!," "So's you're mother!" (and that's just on the stock threads)? I think that there is very little here worth preserving for posterity. (JMO, of course)
Holly. :-)

I'm not sure, but I would bet the beginning of the decline in posting activity dates back to 1999.
I'd guess you're right. Hence my comment they're caught in the same highly cyclical business as a brokerage.

As far as the capital used to operate this site, that could be probably true but there is no way for an outsider to really know. Besides, whoever's capital it is is theirs to do with whatever they wish.
True. And when it's expended, it's lights out.

BTW, welcome back.
Thank you very much. Unfortunately, it may only be temporary. I agree with Rambi about the unsatisfactory resolution of a particular situation. How many people do you have to throw gross, vulgar insults at before you get a suspension? I've made it clear I am willing to play by Jill "Don't even think it!" rules. At this point I would prefer them.

uh, er, i'm not so sure i would care about the 'did not did too" aspect of SI....

but my goodness, the PM messages are worth their weight in gold...

(oh wait, we're talking electrons here<vbg>)

seriously....i love looking at the older threads, just to glean market sentiment and how it has changed...

and the pm's?

that's where the good stuff is...well worth preservation

:)

Aw, c'mon, CR, you have been around this site for many years, and I know you know there are some dazzlingly well-written posts and personal stories and some of the best investment instruction to be found--all well worth preservation. - Holly
