"You don't launch new product in August".

Folks were banging on Bush for not releasing his SS program details last Spring. If they'd pay attention, they'd know why. Why make your strongest marketing push over half a year before the sales pitch? Congress starts its Fall session in September...

Nadine, The ranch near Crawford allows him to get away from the mad house of DC. In such a setting, he can concentrate on what needs to be done, and make plans on how to do it. It is a good retreat for him to think things through without interference. And contrary to some peoples beliefs, he is a thinker. Don't let that "Aw shucks" cowboy image fool you. Many of us from Texas have used the tactic to confuse those that we communicate with, and come out the winner.
