He made the point, and bhagwati has reinforced it indirectly - that OK so we stop buying thier oil - someone will, legally or illegally, and it will still get into the oil MARKET somehow someway. Country x stops buying from Y, or Y stops selling to X, the flows just differentiate to other points.

Think of network architecture, take out a few hubs - the data flow will reroute around - but for the most part you are not going to see a lot of change unless you take out the majority of hubs.

I remember Oreilly saying the oil for food scandal was going to take down several national leaders many months back, well here we are many months into the future, all our buds took illegal oil - and nations have not collapsed eh?

Slagle said we effectively shut off Germany, I don't know that I necessarily believe that. Crooks and such always going to find a way to get around things.

My croatian friend, he had a dad that smuggled guns during thier war -Embargos -HAHA - what a joke. As the kennedys proved, all that does is FOCUS the profits into the hands of a few, not the majority - no thanks.

We couldn't stop crooks in our own borders, but we are gonna stop them half a world away - oh my god - who believes that fantasy.
