Hehe, classic carter, he seemed like a really nice guy, came to south georgia and help build some homes for the homeless.

Carter did deregulate energy at tremendous cost politically. Remember the Democratic leaders at the time were Ted Kennedy, Frank Church, Mo Udall...etal. The results of his efforts were just starting to show up in the economy when Reagan was sworn in.
