As far as where the rubber meets the road.

I am good for about 60 - 90 days minimum.

Getting ready with the rest of the summer for 6 to 9 months.
By mid September that should be completed.

Generator being rebuilt. Bio-diesel plant should be done. Cars and truck repaired. Foods stored.

Water is already in the ground. 2500 gallons in the cisterns all from the well I drink from. an additional pond available.

Even have a small hand pump to filter water if I have to travel. Will do up to 2000 gallons with one filter. I put it in my suitcase. Cost $69 and worth every penny.

Talking to family and helping them get prepared. Each of my kids has an emergency box that I gave them for Christmas last year.

2 blankets, 5 flares, axe and survival knife, water treatment tablets, state maps, ten pounds of energy bars, jerky and hard candies. They have added lots of stuff to each. Rope, Hammock, ammo (depending on the kid) and who knows what else. They keep it in the trunk of their car. And they keep their tanks topped off almost daily.

160 miles to my house with lots of routes laid out. Once here they can help me. I always have lots of jobs going on. Plus. I have the gun safe.

This was so good I reposted it at Sioux's.

"We are not ready as a nation. We are not ready at state level, county level and in most cities or towns on a regional level. The totality with which conditions will worsen in the event of a supply shortage of oil will occur almost instantly nationwide.

An audit of available resources must begin now in order to find solutions for immediate emergencies that will begin once disorder levels are achieved due to lack of resources as basic as food, water and transportation."

I've got this link in my header; it's a good starting place for interested communities. It's going to have to be at the community level.

" One thing to work on and work on it. Mine is sustainability."
I hear that; this is really the first thing that has reached out and grabbed me in a long time. Not to trivialize Iraq, etc, but they didn't stir me with this passion.
