The bartender at my hotel in Seattle this evening stated that he thinks that we tell the people of Iraq that they have to bring the insurgents under control, and if they don't, we nuke them.

Well aside from the nuke bit he's got the right start. We need to tell the Iraqis that they have to bring the insurgents under control, and if they don't we'll leave. That's why I think a timetable for departure would be a very good thing. Something along the lines of, "OK Iraq, we are leaving in 18 months. You'd better start getting your internal security situation under control yourself, because otherwise you are going to be left to the wolves".

Steve, do you live in Seattle too?

That is not funny. Even for a second, it was not funny.
