Bill claimed that I would not have supported an entry into Bosnia had a Republican been president. I simply observed that I favored an entry during the first Bush administration.

That would have been difficult since the problems of extending the UN's mandate from Croatia into Bosnia had not yet failed. From an evidentiary standpoint it was not yet clear what was happening until early 1993 and that involves hindsight. UNPROFOR went into Bosnia in March of 1993, but the big slaughters did not occur until mid 1995.

You may not remember who was Presdient at that time, but it wasn't Bush 1 or 2:-)

Of course we should have known what was happening, but an ex-President was muddying the waters for peace:
