I guess they have live-in servants.

Whenever I made a sales call on an Indian in one of those "McMansions" in Irvine, they would have part of the garage set up as a bedroom. Servant lived there.

Some of our newer subdivisions have a minium of 6,000 sq ft for a ranch and 8,000 sq ft for a two story. Toss in the 3 seasons room, 3 car garage plus a basement and you have a whole lot of house. Taxes on those dwellings run $15k+ a year.

The odd things is newlyweds living in these monstrosities. I bet if you look in the windows, they don't have any furniture in some of the rooms

That's how the new houses in Houston are. Huge empty McHouses for the newly minted Enron, Shell, and Exxon elite. The biggest spoiler about Houston is the new (or in the case of Enron, formerly new) middle class putting on airs. I hated having one in line in front of me at a restaurant or store. Get out the earplugs, screaming to come.
