Dewatering is an environmental issue. Most CBM drilling has been in dry coals in Central AB at Horseshoe Canyon. Wet wells have to be dewatered and the community usually objects. Wells in BC are often wet so the presence of dry wells means the dewatering process and environmental issues are avoided.

You might try Googling Mannville coals or Horseshoe Canyon coals.

FWIW, EBR.TO is a CBM play maybe worth looking at.
