Vonage plans $600 million IPO: report

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Vonage Holdings Corp. the nation's largest Internet-based telephone company, is planning to file for an initial public offering to raise up to $600 million, according to a media report Thursday.

The Edison, N.J.-based company that provides discounted phone service to about 800,000 households already has raised $400 million in venture capital, The Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition. The Journal said theVonage IPO was first reported in the online edition of the Daily Deal.
