China's ship exports rocketing


In the first half of this year, China exported all kinds of ships worth 2.04 billion US dollars, jumping 47.9 percent year on year, the China News Service reported Monday.

Meanwhile China imported ships worth 181 million US dollars, dropping 71 percent from the same period last year, it said.

China's ship exports are expected to exceed 4 billion US dollars for the whole year, the news service quoted the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense as saying.

In the first six months this year, China exported 129,270 vessels, including refined oil ships, crude oil ships, container ships and bulk cargo ships, it reported.
