I think it all has to do with employment and peoples incomes. Here where I live employment is pretty stable and with some high tech drug companies moving in may even improve. Thus, I would expect at worse a levelling off and stagnation of home prices for a period of years rather then a steep drop. However, I well remember the OIL PATCH disaster of past years when people were just walking away from their homes as the mortages exceeded the value. I could have bought a condo in Colorado for peanuts, some of my friends did and I have always been sorry I didnt. jdn
