re:And the truth is that several of us on this thread have been mostly right about Iraq for the past three years

That's your opinion - you missed all the really big ones - the death toll for the invasion was not tens of thousands of US troops, we walked right over them. You got the Iraqi vote all wrong - it astonished the media, they were speechless for days. You did get the cost correct - way more than anyone expected.

You missed two.......the most important two.....that Iraqis would greet us as liberators and that a strong insurgency would not develop. As for the items above, on the second one, I have no idea what you're talking about.

re:And what you don't understand........the job won't be finished for a long, long time....decades possibly......

I knew that from the beginning - you're the one wanting made for TV slot solutions. I will join the protests after they get a constitution and we don't start drawing down forces.

I guess you haven't heard the latest on the constitution.

I believe several folks made many speeches about the years spent rebuilding Germany and Japan. Even when it's obvious Iraq was moving at record speeds - it was never fast enough for some.

And Rumsfeld said the fighting would be over in six days or six weeks but no longer than six months.
