Considering the increase of the total GDP and sky high inflation in that 26 years, 25 times of increase in wage is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, not to mention for the majority their wage increase far far less than that! Before 1978, all the education/health care/housing were virtually free. And now people have to pay dearly for those from their own wages! Not to mention the cost of education/health care/housing has increased more than 100 times, in some case, more then 1000 times! Furthermore, 60% of those 25 times of increase in wage goes to corrupted officials/businessmen, which counts for <1% of labor force, 20% goes the middle class skilled labor in cities, which count anywhere between 20%-30% of the labor force. The rest of 20% goes to 70%-80% of the majority of the labor force! So the majority either have their wage at a stand still (taking into account of the much much higher price they have to pay for the health care, housing, and the education of their children), or virtually declined. BTW, the number before 1978 is not there. The percent of wages counted for as high as 25% of the GDP between 1950 and 1977! Yeah, BTW, before 1978, people worked only 8 hours a day. And now, most of the labor force in cities HAVE TO WORK 10 hours a day! But only got paid for 8 hours! Before there was NO capitalists exploitation for the surplus labor! and now everywhere Chinese workers are being exploited by the capitalists around the globe! Yes, China was a low wage country before 1978, and still is for the majority. But if you mix the majority of Chinese who have NOT benefited from the so-called global economy, with the minority of Chinese elites who are benefiting, you are making a serious mistake! When you have a chance, go visit China yourself, and talk to some people who work in the sweatshop for peanuts, and tell them their wage has increased 25 times. See what they says. They would laugh their jaw off!
